Mach, who won the world 60kg title in Myanmar in 2001, outclassed Ehsan Khajavi Jafarabad from Iran and Indonesian Yusuf Uus Muhammad and Ahmed Hashim Balasim from Iraq in the final muscle performance to win the champion.

It’s the third title of the year that Mach has bagged a medal for his collection at the event along with two gold medals from the Asian and Southeast Asian championships.

In August, the 33-year-old athlete won his fifth Asian title of the men’s 55kg at the Multi-Asian Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Pattaya, Thailand, where his excellent muscle display out-scored Iranian Khajavi Jafarabad.

The An Giang-born bodybuilder, who stands at 1.51m, whose earlier wins were in 2004, 05, 07 and 08, was also successful during the Southeast Asian championships.

At the world championship, Mach’s team mate Nguyen Van Lam ranked fourth in the men’s 70kg division.
