Vietnam’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh, the 7th seed at the Hong Kong Badminton Tournament, was defeated by Malaysia’s Hashim Muhammad Hafiz on November 12.

In the first set, Tien Minh was the winner at 22-20. However, he failed in the second and the third set, losing 21-19 each time. He will nownot have the chance to meet the world number one player Lee Chong Wei.

However, Tien Minh is not the only high profile players to crash out. On November 11, the 4^th seed, Chinese mainland’s Chen Jin, was trounced in the first round by Hu Yun of Hong Kong.
