Hosts Vietnam grabbed an impressive 12 gold medals at the Asian Indoor Games on Saturday to stay in second place behind China. | |||||||
Vietnam now has 41 gold, 29 silver and 21 bronze medals after nine days of the 10-day competition. China has 47 gold, 23 silver and 18 bronze medals while third-placed Kazakhstan has 21 gold, 15 silver and 21 bronze medals. Before the regional contest began on October 30, hosts Vietnam had set themselves the goal of winning 15-20 gold medals and being among the top eight teams. They have exceeded expectations and will have special cause for celebration as the games close on Sunday (November 8). Source: VNA | |||||||
