Vietnam’s veterans team drew 1-1 with Liverpool’s ex-stars team in the friendly Vietnam Masters tournament at My Dinh Stadium on November 20.

Liverpool played better in the first half. Don Hutchison opened the scoring with his close range strike in the 4th minute. Steve Mcmanaman and John Durnin missed their chances to score in the 22nd , 24th and 27th minutes.

After the break, substitutes Hong Son, Huynh Duc, Minh Hieu, Hoang Buu, Huu Thang made the game more exciting. In the 46th minute, Hong Son scored the equaliser with his header from Huu Thang’s fine cross.

From this moment, the excellent performance of the two teams satisfied all the Vietnamese fans up to the end of the match, but no more goal was scored.
