Dong Tam club executive director Pham Phu Hoa said rumors that coach Henrique Calisto would work for T&T Hanoi next season are untrue because his contract with Dong Tam will continue until 2011.

This club’s executive manager Hoa said that in early 2008, Dong Tam signed a 3-year contract with Calisto. However, the club’s chairman Vo Quoc Thang agreed to len the coach to the national squad. The contract noted that Calisto can only work for the national team. Once his contract with the VFF ends, he will return to Dong Tam club. Hoa said Calisto has never told Dong Tam that he would work for another club.

The current contract between Calisto and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will expire on March 31, 2010 and the VFF has offered him a new contract. Meanwhile, T&T Hanoi said that he would be its coach in 2010, during his free time from the national squad. However, Dong Tam announced that this statement is wrong.

In talks with Dong Tam’s officials about the Portuguese coach’s future, the VFF’s vice chairman in charge of finance Le Hung Dung, only mentioned his work for the national squad, not a possible future position at T&T Hanoi.

VFF Chairman Nguyen Trong Hy told VNExpress :v“VFF is negotiating a new contract with coach Calisto. We know that he belongs to Dong Tam until 2011. I think if T&T Hanoi or any other club want to have coach Calisto, they must negotiate with Dong Tam,” Hy said.

Coach Calisto is now in Portugal for the Christmas holiday. He will return to Vietnam on December 28 to oversee the national squad in the two remaining matches of the qualifying rounds of the Asian Cup 2011 against Lebanon and China.
