In the 100m surface (diving with a snorkel), Duong Thi Huyen Trang and her teammate Hoang Thu Phuong finished one-two for gold and silver medals, while Thailand’s Thida Tonpongsathron came took the bronze.

Just a few minutes later, Nguyen Trung Kien set another SEA Games record in the men’s 100m surface with a time of 38.07sec, 0.85sec faster than the old record set by Vietnamese Phan Luu Cam Thanh in 2003.
