The national football team prepared for the Asian Cup 2011 qualifying round with a 4-2 victory over V-League club Hai Phong Cement on Thursday.

However, it was a good sign that the midfielders and strikers showed good form, with the attackers scoring all the four goals.

The national team will travel to Lebanon for an Asian Cup 2011 qualifying match on January 6.

The national team must win the match to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the Asian Cup 2011 finals in Qatar.

Vietnam is now in third place in Group D, three points behind leaders Syria with nine points and China with six points while Lebanon is at the bottom with zero points.

Each team will play the other rivals in the group twice (first and second leg matches) and the two best teams in each group will qualify for the finals in Qatar in 2011.
