“Oh Africa” comes to Vietnam

Many artists, players and sports journalists welcomed the song “Oh Africa” in HCM City on the morning of January 31 when the song was introduced to the whole world.

“Oh Africa” is a song about Africa’s children performed by the world renowned Soweto chorus and two music stars, Akon and Keri Hilson.

Before watching the video, participants shared their love of football and their eagerness for the upcoming World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

Songwriter Tran Tien, who wrote “I Love Football,” admitted that he had never thought that he could write a song about football until the day he watched a match of the national squad in Brunei. When former football star Hong Son scored a goal and gave fans a military salute, Tran Tien was so touched that he wrote the song that same evening.

After telling the story, the musican performed the song.

Singer Hoang Le Vy commented that she likes the spirit of solidarity and friendliness among football fans.

Senior actor Bao Quoc, also a long-time fan of the national football squad, shared his memories with his beloved team.
