Vietnamâs 15-year-old tennis prodigy Nguyen Hoang Thien has advanced to the singles quarterfinals at the International Tennis Federationâs (ITF) Oman Open 2010 in Muscat. | |||||||
Thien beat 17-year-old Egyptian Elsallali Yehia 6-0, 6-1 on Thursday to set up a quarterfinal match against fifth seed Belgian Baltogiannis Yannis, who is two years older than him. In the boysâ doubles event at the junior tournament, Thien and his Austrian partner Nguyen Matthaeus have booked their berth in the semifinals against Egyptians Elsallali Yehia/Zazou. In the quarterfinals, Thien and Matthaeus beat the pair Madanchi from Iran and Tokas from India 6-3, 6-4. Reported by Hoang Quynh | |||||||
