Senior coach to leave Ninh Binh club

Hai became Ninh Binh’s coach on March 18 with a record high salary – 100 million dong a month (over $5000). His mission was to bring the National Cup 2010 to the team and lead it to the top five of V-League 2010. If these goals were achieved, Hai would receive a 1 billion dong bonus at the end of the 2010 football season.
He had a favourable start when Ninh Binh trounced Hoa Phat – Hanoi 2-0 in Hoa Phat’s home stadium in Hanoi. However, the team was ousted from the quarter-final round of the National Cup and defeated by Binh Duong (4-0) and Da Nang (1-0) in its home stadium during V-League’s 7th and 8th rounds.
Ninh Binh is known to be impatient. This club has recruited 7 coaches in the last three years and, in the last four months, the team changed coaches twice.
Hai was not surprised about the three consecutive losing matches. “Before I joined Ninh Binh, I had no idea the team was so weak. This is the reason for its three losing matches. With the current contingent, Ninh Binh can’t maintain its goal of entering the top five. I would like to say this directly to the club’s chair, Hoang Manh Truong, but I have not had the chance yet,” Hai stated.
Hai submitted his resignation on April 12.
Hai is the most successful coach in the history of V-League. He helped LG Hanoi ACB to rank fifth at V-League, the best result for this team so far. Binh Duong won the V-League championship in 2007 and 2008 under Hai’s instruction. At V-League 2009, Hai helped The Cong stay with V-League.
