The first six athletes that have passed the qualifier round consist of two taekwondo artists, two weightlifters, one track-and-field athlete and one gunman.

Some wrestlers are playing very well at the qualifier round and might be joining the proud youths in Singapore.

The Youth Olympic will be organized at the initiative of the Chair of International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge. The first Youth Olympic from August 14-26 will welcome around 3200 athletes from 14-18 years old and 800 officials and coaches from 200 countries.

The event is defined as not only a sports game but an event of education and culture. “For the youth, the most important thing is not competing for medals but to learn the value of sports, life and understanding about different cultures,” said Francis Chong, vice chief organizer from Singapore.
