V-League 2010 promises to be attractive

Da Nang stay top of V-League

During a week break, the transfer market has become buoyant thanks to several clubs, especially the toppers and the clubs in the relegation zone, who have made a lot of changes in order to reach their targets.

Defending champions Da Nang, Becamex Binh Duong and T & T Hanoi who are most likely candidates in the race for the V-League title this season, have signed several new players.

Da Nang who were winners of the first period and entered the AFC Cup quarter-final, have recruited striker Matias Recio Eduardo from Argentina and midfielder Mondo from Zambia on order to gain good results in both national league and the continental competition.

Second-placed T & T who lost top scorer Cong Vinh due his knee injury, have also signed two quality strikers, Carlos from Portugal and Luciano Fonceca from Brazil. Manager Phan Thanh Hung let Trong Binh go to First Division’s Quang Nam and Francois Endene to Hoa Phat Hanoi.

Becamex Binh Duong who rank third have been reinforced by the contracts with Lee Nguyen, one of the best play-makers in the V-League and midfielder Abbey from First Division TDC Binh Duong. After quitting the AFC Cup Binh Duong concentrated efforts on competing for the V-League title. In the first phase, Binh Duong beat Da Nang, showing that they are another major title contender.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Dong Thap will be able to make a great surprise in the second phase as they defeat powerhouses Da Nang, T & T and Binh Duong in the first leg. Fifth-placed Ninh Binh have liquidated the contracts with Si Manh, Rafael and Marcelo and recruited Hung Dung, Van Thong and Da Silva from Sweden with the ambition to be in Top 3.

Five teams in the dangerous zone, including Nam Dinh, Navibank Saigon, Dong Tam Long An , Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Hoa Phat have also signed new players to avoid relegation.

Navibank Saigon have made significant addition to stay in the V-League. They recruited Folie Pascal, Marcelo De Sousa , Leandro De Olivera, Phan Van Santos and Van Khai and liquidated contracts with Suleiman Abdullah, Flario Cruz and Martin Trindade.

Hoa Phat who rank tenth have made several changes with the aim to struggle for a place of safety in the league. Elokan Endene from T & T, Joao Marcelo Da Silva and Hoang Duy from Ninh Binh joined the Hanoi club.

Meanwhile, Hoang Anh Gia Lai signed two strikers, Dong Tam Long An added only one forward Maquemba to their attacking line and bottom-placed Nam Dinh put Numuni Bawa and Inreneo Collante into the registered list for the second period instead of Lowson Adtebn and Arnawd Nsemn.

With thorough preparation of the clubs, the race for the title and the struggle to avoiding relegation promise to be more severe and attractive in the second phase.
