This year’s tournament is part of the 6th National Sport Games and will draw the largest number of the participating teams including Hanoi, the Military team, the Police team, Khanh Hoa, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, Binh Dinh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh. Lao Cai, Dong Nai and Can Tho.

HCM City will join the tournament with their leading players, Mai Hoang My Trang and Mai Xuan Hang, who are considered the top candidates for all three women’s events of singles, doubles and team.

In the men’s events, Hanoi pins their hope on their new player, Doan Kien Quoc, who has twice attended the Olympics. With Kien Quoc, Nam Hai, Tuan Quynh, Hanoi is expected to take a high position at the tournament.

The tournament is co-organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper, the National Administration of Physical Training and Sports and the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation.
