With fifteen gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals, HCM City topped events for boys and girls at the National Junior Taekwondo Championship, which wrapped up yesterday.

With fifteen gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals, Ho Chi Minh City topped both events for boys and girls at the 2010 National Junior Taekwondo Championship, which wrapped up June 16 in Phu Yen province after six days of competition.

In the girls’ event, Ho Chi Minh City ranked first, with four golds, two silvers and six bronzes, followed by Hanoi with four golds, six bronzes, and Binh Thuan with three golds, two silvers and four bronzes.

In the boys’ event, Ho Chi Minh City won 11 golds, five silvers and three bronzes. Meanwhile, host Phu Yen snatched two golds, four silvers and three bronzes, ranking second.

The tournament, held from June 9-15, drew the participation of 35 teams from across the country. The event was considered a good opportunity to select outstanding athletes for the national team.
