VNA publishes poster of World Cup fixtures; Vietnam to join 2nd Asian Beach Games; National Shooting Championships open in Hanoi; Vietnam to compete at 2010 Asia men’s volleyball cup VNA publishes poster of World Cup fixtures The Vietnam News Agency’s Publishing and Advertisement Promotions Centre on June 4, published thousands of 2010 World Cup poster sized schedules, just a week before the world’s largest sporting event kicks off in South Africa. The poster features pictures of all the 32 participating teams and provides a full timetable of the fixtures, venues, dates and times of all the matches (according to Vietnamese time). It has been co-sponsored by several local banks and companies, including Vietcombank, Van Tan Trade and Services, the pharmaceuticals firm Renozax, the Mobido Vietnam Joint Stock Company, the Thuan Phat Group and Eresson Beverages. 2010 National Beach Football Championship: Da Nang, Phu Yen keep on leading In group A, Phu Yen beat Tu Quy Quang Binh 5-2. Meanwhile, in front of the home fans’ enthusiastic support, Thuan An Thua Thien-Hue defeated Phu Thuan 7-5. In group B, Da Nang trounced Binh Thuan 4-0 to win three points. After the disappointing start, defending champions Sanna Khanh Hoa had their first 3-2 win over Vietcombank Quang Nam. The events include beach volleyball, beach football (for men), beach handball, beach sepak takraw, bodybuilding, marathon swimming, triathlon, boat racing, beach kabbadi and beach wooden ball bowling. Vietnam will send a 120-member delegation to the event. The event is an attempt to support Vietnam’s bid to host the 4th Asian Beach Games in 2016. National Shooting Championships open in Hanoi 110 marksmen from Hai Phong, The Military Club, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, The Ministry of Public Security, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will compete at the 15th National Shooting Championships in Hanoi on June 3. At the championships, jointly organised by the Vietnam Shooting Federation and the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the men will compete in 50m rifle free style, 50 rifle three positions, 10m air rifle and 50 pistol free events, while the women will compete in 50m sport rifle, 50m rifle three positions, 10m air rifle, and 10m pistol free style. Vietnam to compete at 2010 Asia men’s volleyball cup Vietnam will attend the 2010 Asia men’s volleyball tournament, which will take place in Nanjing, China from June 5-13. The competition will have 11 teams divided into two groups, one consisting of five teams, the other six teams. They will compete in a round-robin basis to select the top two winners in each group for the semi-finals. Vietnam will play in Group A together with China, Japan, Indonesia and Kazakhstan.
