Vietnamese chess masters won 112 medals, including 56 gold, 33 silver and 23 bronze, ranking first at the Southeast Asian chess tournament 2010, which accepted players of all different ages.

Vietnam took the lead in all three events, namely standard chess, quick chess and blitz.

The country sent 239 chess masters to the competition, held in Subic Bay in the Philippines from June 5-13 for both male and female chess masters in U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U20 categories.

Male chess players above 50 years old also competed at the event.
