Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh beat the Republic of Korea’s Kim Dong Min on July 16 to enter the semi-finals of the Australian Open Grand Prix.
Minh, the world No 6 seed, easily defeated his RoK rival in the Australian Open Grand Prix quarter-finals in Melbourne, Australia.
The victory offered an opportunity for Minh to win the first international title this year when he faces Alamsyah Yunus of Indonesia in the semi-final on July 17.
If Minh wins the championship, he will secure his world No 6 seed for at least one month.
