Vietnam won two out of the three gold medals at the Vietnam Dance Sports Open tournament, known as the Me Trang Cup 2010, which closed in Hanoi on August 14. Though Vietnam’s top female sports dancer Khanh Thi was absent, Vietnam still won two out of the three gold medals at the Vietnam Dance Sports Open tournament, known as the Me Trang Cup 2010, which closed in Hanoi on August 14.
The tournament was held at Hanoi’s Trinh Hoai Duc Sports House on August 13-14, drawing upon the top dancers from Vietnam, China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyztan, Uzebekistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Jordan.
With the absence of Khanh Thi, Vietnam’s hopes were placed on Chi Anh and Nha Khanh. This pair only ranked second for five standard dances. However, Chi Khanh-Diem Quynh won the championship for four Latin dances while Minh Truong-My An took the championship for five Latin dances.
Vietnamese dancer Ngoc Diep was the winner of the Miss Sports Dancing poll. Two other Vietnamese dancers, Diem Quynh and Hong Tan, ranked second and third in the poll.
The winning pairs will attend the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou later this year.
