VietNamNet Bridge –  helped Vietnam put an end to the “thirsty” for gold medals at the Asian Games 16. However, she admitted that before going to Guangzhou, she only wished to take a bronze medal.

How did you feel when you entered the final game at a big event like the Asian Games?

This final game was certainly more difficult than others, especially when my rival was the current world champion. But I tried my best under the guidance of my coaches. I didn’t feel tense because I had not played against Kobayashi before.

I had not won any medal at official international tournaments. I began to practice karate in 2005 and joined the national team in 2008. Before the Asian Games, I participated in several open international karate tournaments.

What is your goal at Asian Games 2010?

Before going to China, I only wished to win a bronze medal.

What did you feel when you took the gold medal?

I was so surprised. Certainly, I desired to earn the gold medal to bring joy to the Vietnamese sport delegation and Vietnamese people. But when it became true, at this moment, I still can’t believe that I did it.

Who did you think about immediately after you won the gold medal?

My mother. Because I want my mother to be proud of me. I would like to present this victory to my coach, Le Cong.

What helped you to achieve this success?

I think this is the effort of the entire national karate team and I was the one who had the chance to receive this honor. These are not diplomatic words because to have this gold medal, the whole team exerted great efforts to prepare the event.
