The International Water Skiing Tournament will be held for the first time in the south central coastal province of Binh Thuan from February 25 to March 5.

More than 100 competitors from 29 countries will participate in two categories including Slalom and Freestyle.

The Mui Ne-Phan Thiet International Water Skiing Tournament marks the start of the National Tourism Year 2011 which will take place in this south central coastal province.

The programs theme “Paradise for Sea and Island Tourism” will be held in Phu Yen, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces and in Da Nang city.

According to organizers, the International Water Skiing Tournament aims to promote the Binh Thuan tourism industry and showcase Vietnamese sea tourism products.

In addition, an international yacht festival with a theme “Ship, Sea, Sand and Sun” will take place in Binh Thuan from March 17 to 20.

The competition will attract yachting teams from around 20 countries.

A series of activities such as music performances, a photo exhibition titled “Sea and life”, seminars on “Yacht manufacturing, marketing and trading” and “Developing Vietnam’s maritime tourism trademark” will form part of the event.
