This Sunday, September 9, hundreds of runners from across the globe will descend on Mui Ne to trace a course that follows the city’s scenic coastline. In its inaugural year, the Mui Ne Half Marathon will play host to over 100 athletes. Other race options include a 21km, a 10km and a 5km race.

Participants will begin at Sea Links City at 7AM sharp. The course will take them through the resort before branching out east along a recently constructed highway offering breathtaking views of the Vietnam Sea. At a point along this route, runners will turn around and head back to the finish line at Sea Links City, where athletes are welcome to use the resort’s facilities.

Organisers confirm the course will be kept open for three and a half hours to allow as many runners and walkers to finish as possible.

“The course was unveiled last month and the response from the public has been overwhelming!” said David Shin of Sporting Republic, the event organiser. “Runners are already describing the route as a “run through paradise” and several high-profile personalities are expected to attend and participate in the various events.”

The purpose of the half marathon is to raise Mui Ne’s international profile and, ultimately, attract investors to the region.
