According to the organizing board, nearly 400 athletes from clubs of 15 cities, provinces and sectors participated in the elimination round.

The athletes compete in 5 events: carom 3 D; carom 1 D, British snooker, pool 9 balls and pool 8 balls.

Athletes with high results at the elimination round will be selected for the final round.

The organizing board said that the tourney aimed to prepare a national billiard and snooker team to participate in international billiard and snooker tourneys in 2013, especially the 27^th SEA Games in Myanmar.

The closing ceremony and ceremony to present prizes will be held on March 19^th.
