The event was co-organized by Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation, Khanh Hoa provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Focus Travel Company.

Being part of Nha Trang Sea Festival 2013 and annual schedule of Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation, athletes competed in seven medal categories. They have chance to practice and exchanges skills, thus promoting the development of this sport on the national scale.

It also aimed to prepare the nation to play at the forthcoming Asian Beach Games V, with the participation of 45 nations and territories. The games will be hosted by Vietnam in 2016.

Sailing is one of the official sports in the Olympics. This sport is not only popular in major world sports events such as the Olympics, Asian Games and SEA Games; but also has great potential to foster the tourism sector. Therefore, this tournament has contributed to promoting the image of Vietnam to international friends, especially reaffirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over its islands and sea.

Finally, Focus Travel team from Vietnam ranked top at the event, following by Corsair Marine and Klein Enterprises.
