It’s been over 36 hours since Mumbai was taken over by terrorist attacks. And there’s still no end to the nightmare.

After a gunbattle with terrorists at the Oberoi hotel, security forces have evacuated at least 50 people, mostly foreigners Friday morning. The people were rushed to the hospital for a medical check up.

Seven hostages had also been rescued from the Nariman House, a Jewish residential complex in Colaba in south Mumbai, after powerful gunshots.

“The operation to clean up the Nariman House is still going on,” a National Security Guard (NSG) officer Dutt said. “It is just a matter of time and it will end soon,” he said.

Operations are still on in these two five-star hotels. At the Oberoi hotel, there are believed to be two or three terrorists. Noreport is seen about the exact number of remaining terrorists inside the Taj hotel now.

Two loud explosions heard from inside the building of Taj.

“At least one injured terrorist is inside the Taj hotel. The stage seems to be set for a final operation there,” police said, adding seven terrorists have been killed there.

Over 70 people were released from two hotels Thursday evening, and some have been brought out on stretchers.

So far, 125 people have been killed, including 14 policemen and six foreigners, and 327 injured in a series of terrorist attacks in Mumbai since Wednesday evening.

Security forces from the Indian army, navy, National Security Guard and Rapid Action Force got involved in the raging encounter with heavily-armed terrorists.
