France Transport Minister Dominique Bussereau said on Friday that no evidence of an Air France airliner that disappeared over the Atlantic has been found by French forces.

“Time is against us,” Dominique Bussereau said. “We must do everything we can to find the recorders and certainly enlarge the search zone.” He expressed his regret at the announcement by Brazilian officials that debris from the missing plane they had recovered in the water turned out to be false.

In the wake of the Air France disaster, European plane maker Airbus Friday issued emergency guidelines to pilots worldwide reminding them of how to handle the plane in the similar condition as flight AF447.

The guidelines came after the French air safety investigation agency said that automatic messages sent by the Air France Airbus A330 before it disappeared on Monday showed “inconsistencies between the various speeds measured.”

In the statement, the Office of Inquiries and Analysis (BEA) also confirmed the plane was flying into “significant convective cells typical of the equatorial regions,” a fierce thunder storm over the Atlantic.

On Monday, an Air France flight AF447 with 228 people on board from Rio to Paris went missing over the Atlantic. According to Air France earlier this week, the airliner sent out a series of messages showing “multiple technical failure” just before it disappeared. The technical failure was suggested to play a role in the air crash.
