Deputy Inspector General Operations, Bin Yamin, told reporters that the police have recovered the head, two legs and parts of skull of the bomber.

Earlier Yamin said that a bomb was planted in the office of the WFP office, located in a rented house in downtown Islamabad.

The police officer said around 80 people had been working in the WFP office and the security was assigned to a private firm. He said that 20 to 30 international staff were working in the office.

Xinhua reporters saw bloodstains all over the blast site and ambulances and fire fighters rushed to fetch the injured to hospitals. A Chinese reporter living close to the building told Xinhua that she heard an explosion at about 12:15 pm local time (0615 GMT) and then the shrill of police whistle.

Wasim Khawaja, spokesman for the main hospital Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, said that the bodies of a foreigner and two Pakistani women were brought to the hospital. Khawaja said that four of the seven injured are stated to be in critical condition.

Witnesses said that blaze erupted in the WFP office and the fire fighters were called to extinguish the blaze. Thick smoke was coming out of the building shortly after the blast. Cracks also appeared in walls of the building.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have strongly condemned the blast at the WFP office in Islamabad and ordered immediate inquiry.

The WFP office is located at the posh F-8 sector which was highly guarded. Several offices and houses of foreign diplomats are located in the sector. The private house of President Asif Ali Zardari is also located in the F-8 sector.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack. But police said that it is part of the series of terrorist acts. Police sources said that six people, including two security guards, were taken into custody for questioning.

It is reported that all the offices of the United Nations agencies in Pakistan will remain closed until further orders.
