Seventeen laborers died and 30 others were feared trapped or drowned when a bridge under construction over River Chambal in India’s north-western state of Rajasthan collapsed.

The missing workers are believed to be trapped in the debris.

Rescue and relief operations are in full swing with the assistance of Army personnel, who are searching for the missing and trapped.

A South Korean company was overseeing the construction of the 50-meter long span. It is unclear what caused the collapse.
