South Korea fishing boat carrying 42 sailors was sunken at 4:30 am, December 13
in the Antarctic Ocrean. There were 11 Vietnamese sailors on the ship.

The 614-ton ship was sunken around 2,250km from New Zealand,
according to South Korean news agency Yonhap.

After the ship delivered SOS signals, another Korean fishing
boat came and rescued 20 sailors.

At least five people were reported dead, 18 are missing. The
fate of 11 Vietnamese remains unclear.

The temperature of the sea water is only two Celsius degrees
so the survival is unlikely.

According to AP, there were 11 Vietnamese, eight Korean, 8
Chinese, 11 Indonesian, 3 Philippine and 1 Russian sailors on the ship.

South
Korea has not made public the names of the
sailors and the current situation of the ship.

Korean TV channel YTN said South Korea
has asked for New Zealand’s
assistance.
