More than 40 companies buy BKAV anti-virus programme

Three months after launch, 41 enterprises have brought official copies of the new anti-virus programme developed by Bach Khoa Anti-Virus Enterprise (BKAV), according to statistics provided by the Bach Khoa Internet Security Centre (BKIS).

Vietnam Airlines, Petrolimex company, the President’s Office, PVFC Land, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, and Van Loi Steel Company are all licensed users.

BKAV is the most popular anti-virus programme in Viet Nam and has more than 10 million users.

SecuTech Expo to showcase security devices

SecuTech Viet Nam Expo 2008 will run from November 11-13 at the Viet Nam Exhibition and Trade Fair Centre.

The three day event, co-organised by the Viet Nam Fair, Exhibition and Advertising Joint Stock company, A&G Group, Asia Professional Security Association (APSA), Fire Fighting and Prevention Company and the Da River Construction Investment Company, showcases the latest security and fire fighting equipment as well as safety devices.

MobiFone awards 21 millionth subscriber VND76 million

MobiFone will give VND100 million (US$6 million) to its 21 millionth subscriber. The winner will be offered VND76 million in cash and VND24 million in telecom charges.

MobiFone will also offer another 10 subscribers runner-up prizes of VND10 million each.

Dinh Viet Hung, head of the pricing and marketing division of MobiFone said that the company has set a goal of 25 million subscribers by the end of the year.

MobiFone recently stepped up installation of base receiver stations and will soon have 10,000 nationwide.

Fuji Xerox uses recycled materials in new printer

Fuji Xerox yesterday officially introduced its digital colour multifunction printer in Viet Nam, which received an Eco Products award from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The environmentally friendly Fuji Xerox uses recycled materials that meet quality standards to make the DocuCentre-III C3300/C2200/C2201, which helps reduce carbon dioxide discharge during production.

The multi-function printer/copier, which can also scan and fax, was created to serve advertising agencies, printing firms and multinational companies that have a large demand for colour copying and printing.

Another Japanese company, Toshiba, also introduced three new products yesterday, the LCD TV Regza series CV500E, Qosmio G50 and X300 laptop computers, and multifunctional colour copier e-Studio4520c.

HP’s new products help cut business costs

Hewlett-Packard (HP) Viet Nam yesterday announced new products, services and solutions that will help local and foreign businesses save energy, space, and investment.

The new products and services enhance virtualisation, or the process in which a company uses IT to allow it to operate without clearly defined physical boundaries, which is expected to go mainstream in the Asia–Pacific, according to HP.
