Pearl Research’s representative, Allison Luong, said the most popular games in Vietnam at present are Audition and Swordmen Online. Most of the online games in the country came from China and South Korea. Vietnam is one of the most potential markets for game service providers in Asia.

However, Luong said World of Warcraft, one of the most popular online games in the world, is not distributed in Vietnam yet. But the game’s distributor, Electronic Arts, is investing in FIFA Online in Vietnam, which is the first online game of American-origin in Vietnam.

According to Pearl Research, most Vietnamese gamers accept to pay from $3-6 per month for making purchases in games. The number of gamers who pay $31 per month for use at Internet cafes is quite high.

With over 50% of the population below the age of 25, Pearl Research believe that most Vietnamese teenagers and young people will see online games as one of the top entertaining services.
