VietNamNet Bridge - At the 8th International Society on Toxicology Asia-Pacific (IST-AP) Meeting opened Tuesday, Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan asserted that the event is a good chance for both Vietnamese and foreign scientists to share their experience for the top priority – saving and improving people’s health.

The IST-AP Meeting on Animal, Plant and Microbial Toxins, hosted by Vietnam for the first time, will last from December 2-6 in Hanoi and Ha Long City, attracting representatives from 21 countries and territories, including scientists in the broad fields of biological research, biotechnologies, bioinformatics, and pharmaceutical industries.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy PM Nhan showed his admiration to scientific achievements made by associations on toxicology for the sake of human life.

Over the past 50 years, these organizations have conducted many useful researches and inventions to protect people’s health.

Under the theme “Biotoxins from nature to human diseases”, the Meeting aims at bridging fundamental researches and clinical studies on problems related to poisons.

Participants will present a number of studies on natural biotoxins, their applications for human medical uses, especially with emphasis on those cutting edge topics relevant to both international community and developing countries in Asia.
