This year the HCM City Calculation Science and Technology Institute will invest VND5 billion (more than $294,000) in human resources training.

The real sum will be much higher because the above funding will be spent on airfare, accommodations and stipends only. The pay for training fees, laboratories, equipment and textbooks will be provided free of charge by overseas Vietnamese and international friends.

The institute will give priority to training personnel in the fields of life sciences, new materials, mechanics, calculation foundations, and environment this year.

The institute has recruited 26 employees, who are outstanding students from some universities in HCM City. It also has five experts who are overseas Vietnamese. The institute plans to invite five more overseas Vietnamese experts this year.

The institute is about to cooperate with Russian calculation scientists to apply calculation sciences in calculating economic standards. It is developing a website providing environmental indexes.
