VietNamNet Bridge – The Japanese Embassy in Hanoi has announced that the Japanese Emperor will present to the Hanoi University of Natural Sciences his essay about the Vietnamese goby on March 6.

The ceremony will be held with the participation of Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mitsuo Sakaba and the Director of the Hanoi University of Natural Sciences Bui Duy Cam.

In 1976, the Japanese Mikado, at that time a crown prince, performed a research work about a new species of fish discovered in a branch of the Can Tho River in Vietnam. The work was published in a scientific magazine.

Also in 1976, the specimens used for this essay were presented to the Hanoi General University. The specimens are now at the Fauna Museum of the Hanoi University of Natural Sciences.

On the occasion of the Japanese crown prince’s visit to Vietnam in early February, the Japanese Mikado confided the crown prince would present the essay to Vietnamese scientific agencies.
