Presiding over a meeting this afternoon with the competent ministries, sectors and enterprises, Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai confirmed the policies to encourage and grant tax and loan incentives for bio-fuel projects.

Developing bio-fuels is a necessary step of Vietnam’s energy industry.

Deputy PM Hai stressed the need of developing renewable bio-fuels to partly replace fossil fuels, ensure energy security and protect environment.

He urged the Interdisciplinary Steering Board (chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade) of the Bio-fuel Development Plan to 2015 to draft and issue more policies and documents on facilitating the implementation of bio-fuel projects, planning material areas, defining technical standards, and putting factories into operation soon.

Competent ministries and enterprises were assigned to plan the realization of researches on application, technology transfer, and pilot use of new products, such bio-diesel B5.

The results of pilot projects on Ethanol E5 and bio-diesel B5 must be popularized soon, said Deputy PM Hai.
