Sinh, who is a director of the National Institute for Scientific Research (INRS) in the Canadian province of Quebec, has helped to strengthen ties between the INRS and the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology while helping Vietnamese students to study in Canada.

He is also a founding member of the “Canada – Vietnam education network” which has put together many scientists, specialists and researchers from North America and Europe.

The network is seen as a conduit to link Vietnamese specialists and professors living in foreign countries with their homeland.

Addressing the presentation ceremony, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada, Nguyen Duc Hung emphasised that the Vietnamese government always appreciates contributions from overseas Vietnamese intellectuals working in the fields of science and education.

For his part, Prof. Sinh said he wants to contribute more to developing scientific research in his country.
