Ho Chi Minh City will build the eco-town model developed by Van Lang University and the local Department of Science and Technology in 2017.

The aim of the project is to create a trash recycling model, said Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, a member of the research group. Specifically, it will minimize the emissions of greenhouse gases, improve the management of solid waste, raise pubic awareness of environmental issues, provide high-quality infrastructure for people to live and work, and sustain the highest possible pace of industrial and economic development.

“This project is of great significance to HCM City and will be home to 23 processing zones and 30 industrial clusters by 2020,” detailed Dr. Lam Minh Triet, Head of the Institute for Water and Environmental Technology.

This project has been developed by the Van Lang University and the HCM City Department of Science of Technology for seven years.
