The International Exhibition on Nuclear Power 2010 opened on May 27 in Hanoi to introduce state-of-the-art nuclear power technology in the world to Vietnamese people.

In his opening speech, Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Van Phong commented that the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant will be the first step in Vietnam’s nuclear industry.

Officials from the National Assembly’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the US, Russian, French Ambassadors to Vietnam attended the opening ceremony.

Prof., Dr. Dang Vu Minh, Chair of the National Assembly’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Dinh Tien visited the French stall.

Delegates listened to a presentation about Japan’s nuclear power plant technology…

… and watched a prospective of Ninh Thuan 1 and 1 nuclear power plants.

China also participated in the exhibition with models of nuclear piles.

Chosen as the partner of Vietnam’s first nuclear power plant project, Russia presents a detailed model of a nuclear power plant and a detailed presentation of technology and human resource training.

… and examined the Russian model.
