Vietnam’s TOPIO Dio robot, the first humanoid waiter robot, was displayed at Automatica 2010, the world largest automation exhibition in Munich, Germany from June 8-11.

The robot stands 1.25m high and weighs 45kg. It is a friendly waiter and bartender for restaurants and hotels, built by TOSY Robotics Company, known for TOPIO Ping Pong, a table-tennis playing robot.

This year TOSY brought several products to the exhibition, including TOPIO Dio and other industrial robots. TOSY robot prices are only 25 percent of rates for similar products in the world market.

TOPIO Dio is controlled via wireless Internet and attracted special attention.

Automatica 2010 gathered more than 700 stalls of big corporations from 42 countries. The exhibition drew around 31,000 visitors.

Vietnam’s TOSY Robotics presented TOPIO Ping Pong and some new industrial and service robots.

TOSY industrial robots are 75 percent cheaper than similar products.

These robots can pick up 180 items and place them at set places within one minutes.

The latest service robot models were displayed, including Metra’s robot, which helps customers at supermarkets and trading centres.
