A MoU on the issue was signed by the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the RoK Ministry of Administration and Public Security was signed in last August.

Deputy MIC Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said the signing of the document aimed to facilitate the establishment and development of e-government in Vietnam.

In 2010, the two countries will increase cooperation in IT training and Vietnam will participate in an IT training programme (KOIL) carried out the RoK governement.

A public-private IT forum between the two sides will be also set up to promote cooperation between the government and businesses of both countries.

The RoK side spoke highly of Vietnam’s efforts in IT development and computerisation strategy and confirmed its help, contributing to accelerating e-government building process in Vietnam.

Additionally, the RoK internet voluntary programme (KIV) in Vietnam is expected to be further expanded.
