$24 million to build 12 laboratories in HCM City

HCM City authorities have allowed the municipal Biotechnology Centre to build 12 modern laboratories at the cost of $2 million each, totaling $24 million.

The centre’s director Duong Hoa Xo said that from now to 2012, six laboratories will be built, giving priority to labs serving agriculture and seacooking research and development.

From 2012 to 2015, the six remaining labs to research and develop biotechnology will be built.

The estimated human resources for running these laboratories is around 200-300 people. The city has approved a program to train 100 master degree holders and doctors.

The construction of the HCM City Biotechnology Centre is underway, at a cost of $100 million.
