Ministry
readies check on pre-paid subscribers


The Ministry of
Information and Communications and the Ministry of Public Security have
finalised procedures to review information relating to pre-paid subscribers in
Ha Noi, Da Nang and HCM City.

According to telecoms
companies, 100 per cent of prepaid subscribers have registered their individual
information, but

there is no accurate individual information on record.


Mobifone offers
raft of new promotions


MobiFone customers who
buy its Ring2 1000, Ring2 3000 or Go 3G services will receive a MobiCard starter
kit and other promotional programmes.

Mobifone will also add
money to users accounts, provide free SMS messages and free internet surfing
after successful activation.


Inmarsat to showcase new hand-held phone


The Inmarsat Company
will introduce a hand-held phone in June known as IsatPhone Pro in Viet Nam.
Selling for US$600, it will use the global satellite system and global broadband
network.

The new model will
offer reliable global coverage – and a battery life of up to eight hours talk
time and 100 hours on standby.


X-Conference
helps boost staff management


Viettel Technologies (Viettel
Corporation), as the provider of the X-Conference service, has added 600 more
endpoints, bringing the total to 800 nationwide.

The X-Conference
service has assisted in the management of Viettel’s 23,000 employees and 30,000
collaborators as well as saving time and expense in recruitment activities.

The video conferencing
service has been used by Lien Viet Bank, Vinaconex Corporation, Military Bank
and Hoa Phat Group.


Vinaphone
offers dedicated data plans for iPad


VinaPhone will offer
dedicated data plans for iPad with Wi-Fi + 3G in Viet Nam. There will be no
conracts, providing freedom to activate or cancel a plan at any time.

iPad allows users to
connect with their apps and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way.
