Australia and Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on Turesday (January 25) to further cooperation in vocational education and training.

The MoU was signed by Vietnam’s deputy minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Nguyen Ngoc Phi, and Australian Ambassador Allaster Cox.

Bilateral ties between Australia and Vietnam have grown strongly over the past three decades and more, particularly in the fields of education and training, an Australian embassy release said.

Both countries require technical skills to modernise industries, increase productivity and attract investment. Effective vocational training can significantly increase employment opportunities and improve standards of living, it added.
