Burned veal dish set national record for the Vietnamese good food on occasion of Heritage Festival in Quang Nam in June 2013.

On April 8, this dish would be recognized as the national record by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province.

According to Mr Ho Tan Cuong, Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, after comparing Cau Mong burned veal to other dishes in other parts of Vietnam, Vietnam Record Organization confirmed its specific traits about the way of burning veal, sauce and vegetable coming with it.

Cau Mong belongs to Dien Phuong commune. It is famous for the burned veal sold along the highway 1A since the 1960s of the 20th century.

Calves used for the dish do not weight more than 30 kilograms. The dish comes with vegetable of Quang Nam.

On the occasion of the 400-year Thanh Chiem palace Festival in Quang Nam in 2007, Cau Mong burned veal was promoted but until now it is officially ranked the national record.
